San Diego Based Reggae band Tribal Seeds made a surprise announcement recently on their Instagram announcing Jamaican Roots Reggae singer Hector Roots Lewis as the Lead Singer for the Band's Summer 2022 tour season.
Hector Lewis will fill in for the band's foundation lead singer, Steve Jacobo, who under professional advice took an unexpected break from the Band's hectic schedule for some much-needed rest.
In the Instagram post, Steve stated, "I've been struggling to keep up with the physical toll this work requires so I'll be taking a break from live performances".
He continued by saying "I want to thank the talented and crucial vocalist, Hector Roots Lewis for stepping up and filling in as the lead vocalist in my absence".
Hector Roots Lewis was the first artist signed to Chronixx led imprint Soul Circle. Born in St. Catherine, Jamaica. He is no newcomer, with almost a decade of experience under his belt touring with Chronixx and the Zinc Fence Redemption Crew, he stepped out to the centre stage in 2021 with his critically acclaimed release "Ups and Downs" which placed the burgeoning artist on the global Reggae Radar.
Originally started by brothers Steven and Tony Jacobo in 2005, Tribal Seeds dropped their 2005 debut album "Youth Rebellion" which went on to win the "Best World Music" title at the 2005 San Diego Music Awards.
Since then the band has grown from strength to strength, releasing 5 full album projects and 2 EPs, copping 42 charted singles along the way.
Tribal Seeds is set to headline 25 cities this summer alongside fellow Cali Reggae Rockers Dirty Heads, and 2022 Grammy award winners SOJA, kicking off in Seattle Wa, on June 24th and ending in Chicago Illinois on August 12th.
