New York-based ORA Records, home of rising female talent Raybekah, has announced it has forged a licensing deal with Island Records UK for Raybekah's "Ex-Boyfriend", her upcoming release which has already sparked a viral frenzy on TikTok., reaping millions of views for the 19-year-old artist hailing from Lagos, Nigeria.
"Ex-Boyfriend" will follow her latest release "I Like Boys" which is currently connecting in the west and has found itself ample spin on terrestrial urban radio stations in Jamaica, Trinidad, Antigua, and along the US east coast.
ORA Records was founded by Jamaican O'neil Anderson in 2018, to focus on the production and distribution of fringe soundscapes of a more underground and experimental nature.
With offices in New York and Lagos Nigeria, the licensing deal with Island Records UK is a milestone for ORA Records and signals the growing confidence of the industry's major players in the young label's ability to find talent and deliver music with mainstream potential.
